INVOLVEMENT
Resident Committees. These are each chaired by a resident, and report to the Education Committee. At the beginning of each academic year, goals and objectives, along with time lines, are created by the chair and committee members. Virtually all recommendations forwarded to the Education Committee through these resident lead committees have been incorporated into the program.

1. Curriculum: Examines all off service rotations in terms of feasibility of completing the goals and objectives, identifying optimal preceptors, reading references, etc.

2. Lifeline/EMS: oversees all interactions between the residency and prehospital care, including flight nurse and allied health CME projects. Coordinates the "adopt-a-unit" program.

3. Informational Services: manages the residency computers, library and slide file. Makes recommendations for hardware/software and text purchasing.

4. Orientation / Recruiting: assists in the development of the orientation process held each July and coordinates resident candidate recruiting efforts.

5. Social: goal is to have at least one social event monthly, as well as to promote camaraderie amongst the residents and faculty.

6. Medical Student/Rotating R1 liaison: This group serves as the facilitator for our rotating students and residents, and oversees the conference scheduling for them.

7. Residency Newsletter Editorial Board: Produces the once a month publication of our newsletter. The editorial board consists of faculty and residents. A resident serves as editor-in-chief.
